Pro-Life Mavericks is the Pro-Life student organization on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington. My sister and I started this organization in 2014 with 3 other friends and it has quickly grown. The organization is founded on the conviction that every human being has equal intrinsic value and worth, even those human who are different than our immediate circles; Especially those who are pre-born. In the course of my time as a member of Pro-Life Mavericks, I had the opportunity to create much in the way of graphic art for events, general organization posters, and topical meeting graphics.
The logo itself started as the shape of a human heartbeat with the letter “M” for the university’s Maverick mascot. The final iteration had it’s fundamental formulation by my good friend John MacLean who was the Events Coordinator for several years. I took this shape he created and made some adjustments to add the rounded, dot-trace mark that is the final result. The logo is a dot tracing the outline of a human heartbeat and also the letter “M” simultaneously.
